He's a WINNER!

This week my favorite Husker Son-in-law was a winner! Every year the large company where he works gives a trip to the top 5 sales people for the year. He has been close in previous years, but this year he WON! I am very proud of him and all of his hard work. Congratulations!!!!

In the mean time, we have had some more representation from the other Big 12 schools attended in the family.....

Hope you all have a fun Halloween!

Yarn

My Mom and I got home last night from Rhinebeck and the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival. We had a great time. On Sunday it was colder and raining, but we were able to visit the vendor booths that we didn't have time for on Saturday, as well as check out some of the demonstrations and food.

Here are a couple of photos of the stuff that called my name and came home with me.

At least I tried to get yarn for specific patterns I've been wanting to try. I only bought a couple of thing without projects in mind.

And did I tell you that the leaves were gorgeous?

OMG

Today, my Mom and I went to the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY. If you are a yarn person, think of all of the yarn and knitting and spinning supplies that you have ever seen in all of the yarn stores that you have ever been in your whole life and then multiply that by about 1000. Talk about yarn heaven.....I will have to do some creative packing to get everything back on the plane home.

We arrived a little after 9:00 am and didn't leave until 4:00. We were both pooped and we still didn't visit all of the vendor booths. We'll have to try to get to them tomorrow.

The trees here are wearing their colorful fall attire and are gorgeous! The weather was cold -- and is supposed to be colder tomorrow -- but that is what sweaters and coats are for I guess. There were gobs of people there, but it was really fun.

Portland

This last week I went to Portland to visit CareBear and took these photos at an outdoor mall and the Rose Gardens.

The weather was perfect. One day we did the "Fruit Loop", visiting several fruit orchards and fruit stands in the Mt. Hood area. We also did some shopping and eating. I had a great time!
